Gene Hackman was born in San Bernardino, California, the son of Eugene Ezra Hackman and Anna Lyda Elizabeth (née Gray). He has one brother, Richard. Gene Hackman has Pennsylvania Dutch (German), English, and Scottish ancestry; his mother was born in Lambton, Ontario.
