Review of Nov 2016 Tax Paper
Generally, ICAI frames most of questions from topics where there are amendments in the recent times.
For Nov 2016 Paper, most questions in Indirect Tax part were asked from topics with amendments. However, for Income Tax, all regular topics were selected.
Around 85% of questions has come from Practice Manual and last 2 attempt RTPs.
Paper is not lengthy but little tricky. Students may spend most of the time reading and understanding the questions, which will consume lot of time.
Question from Indirect Tax are very easy and students who have throughly studied recent amendments will score marks easily.
For Income Tax, certain topics which students leave as unimportant ones were asked in the exam.
Overall, we can conclude that today’s Tax Paper is little tricky and also difficult when compared to first three papers in this exam.

Law Question Paper Nov 2016 Review by CA Aarti Jain
The Paper is overall an easier one when compared to the Law papers for the past five exams.
There is a small typo error in the law question paper. Instead of ‘Shelf’ Prospectus’, It was written ‘Self Prospectus’. There is a chance that ICAI will add up 2 extra marks for this error.
The Paper is not lengthy and can be easily completed with in the given 3 hours time.
Another Notable point is that, around 96 Marks have been asked directly from ICAI Law Practice Manual.
Almost all questions are direct ones without any complications.
