Interview of IPCC Topper: Varsha Mallya

How are you feeling right now?

It does feel really great to be AIR 1, especially when people from all over the country convey their good wishes and regards. The feeling moved on from disbelief to exhilaration to a motivation that I still have a long way to go.

What was the first thing that you did after seeing your scores

The Vice-President of ICAI was the one to inform me about my result. I immediately called up my parents as I got to know my scores.

Youngest Chartered Accountant in India @ 17 years

What was your timetable and schedule for studies ?

I was very regular with my studies. Consistency, I believe, is very important to achieve success in any field. I did my work alongside classes. A month before exams, I tried to study for around 10 productive hours a day.

What is the most important thing one should keep in mind while preparing for exams ?

The most important thing to be kept in mind is that the focus should always be on keeping the concepts strong and clear. Regularity is also very important. Moreover, it is also essential to focus well and not lose confidence right before exams. If you know your subject well and haven’t done selective study, success is sure to come.

Who guided you the most ?

It was teachers who always motivated us to do well and were there to help us throughout. CA Ashish Kalra’s classes have taught me values for life. CA Ajay Jain had been a constant source of motivation. Apart from this, my friend Payal Jain has been my guide right from the beginning. How to Pass CA IPCC Group 1

You are doing Grad. from SRCC and pursuing CA along with that, So is it difficult to manage the studies or both things are helping each other ?

Yes, it is a little hectic to manage regular college along with CA, but some subjects are complementary and having studied for IPCC makes it easier to manage a few of the subjects.

Yesterday Mr. Modi was in your college, how was the experience and what you have learnt from the speech.

It was very nice listening to Mr. Narendra Modi’s speech. It was very interesting to know about the Gujarat growth story from the man himself. Mr. Modi is an excellent speaker and he kept the crowd hooked on to him for the entire duration. It was very nice listening to his future ambitions for the state. CA Final Study Plan

What are your hobbies ?

I like painting and reading.

What is your plan for future ?

Right now, I plan to complete graduation and then continue with articleship. I may also consider doing an executive MBA (Finance) later.

Any message for our members ?

Yes, I would like thank everyone and also wish all the aspirants good luck for future. Keep your end in mind and do not let little roadblocks deter you from your goal. As Ashish Sir rightly puts it, “Plan your work and work your plan”.
